Word cloud for our course

On Tuesday we’ll begin to discuss ways of organizing information, starting with taxonomies and folksonomies. You’re already familiar with one kind of folksonomy–tagging–since you’ve been using it to categorize your blog posts. These tags are displayed on the sidebar on the right side of the page in what’s called a tag cloud.

There’s a nifty little web tool called Wordle that lets you cut and paste text into a field and creates a word cloud from the text. I pasted in our course description and goals, and here’s what it created:
